PRIVACY POLICY

This policy should be read in conjunction with our Terms of Use. If some or all provisions of this policy are not acceptable, we strongly advise you to discontinue use of this website.

1. HOUSINGBUDDY.COM'S COMMITMENT TO PRIVACY

Your privacy is important to us. To better protect your privacy we provide this notice explaining our online information practices and the choices you can make about the way your information is collected and used. To make this notice easy to find, we make it available on our homepage and at every point where personally identifiable information may be requested.

This notice applies to all information collected from or submitted to HousingBuddy.com ("the Website" or "HSB"). The Website may contain links to other websites operated by third parties. HSB is not responsible for the privacy practices or policies of these third party websites.

2. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

The Website is not set up to automatically collect personally identifiable information from each visitor. It does, however, recognize the home server of visitors, but not e-mail addresses. For example, we can tell which Internet Service Provider our visitors use, but not the names, addresses or other information that would allow us to identify any p articular visitor to the Website. This information is used only for internal purposes by our technical support staff.

The Website does track certain information about visits to the site. For example, we compile statistics that show the numbers and frequency of visitors to the Website and its individual pages. These aggregated statistics are used internally to improve the Website and for product development and marketing purposes generally. Those aggregated statisti cs may also be provided to advertisers and other third parties, but again, the statistics contain no personal information and cannot be used to gather such information so as to contact you.

In a few areas on the Website, we may ask you to provide information that will enable us to verify whether you are entitled to access and use certain information, materials a nd services available from the Website, or to enable us to enhance your visit, to assist you with customer service or technical support issues, or to follow up with you after yo ur visit or otherwise support your customer relationship with HSB. Your participation is optional. However, failure to participate may mean that you cannot access and use certa in information, materials or services.

3. WHEN WE MAY REQUEST INFORMATION FROM YOU

We may prompt you to provide certain information when you log on to certain areas of the Website. You may be asked to provide us with your user name and password as a condit ion to gaining access to certain information, materials or services. We may also request information from you when you:

Register or sign-up to subscribe to a service;
Subscribe to a newsletter or request to be added to our mailing lists for other products or services;
Place an order;
Participate in a promotional offer; or
Provide feedback in an online survey

In each of the instances above, we typically ask for your name, e-mail address, phone number, address, the type of business you do, produuct preference information, any applic able identification number or password that we may require, as well as other similar personal information needed to register you for services, subscriptions or other offers. On occasion, we may ask for additional information to enable us to provide you with access to certain information, materials or services. In the case of mailed materials, you will be able to unsubscribe to these mailings at any time.

4. HOW WE USE INFORMATION WE COLLECT

The personal information you provide us when using the Website, such as your name, postal or e-mail address or telephone number, will be kept confidential and used to support your Customer relationship with HSB. It also may be used to notify you of special offers, updated information and new products or services offered by HSB, or offers from third parties that we think may be of interest. Agents or contractors of HSB who are given access to your personal information will be required to keep the information confidential an d to not use it for any other purpose than to carrying out the services they are performing for HSB.

HSB may also enhance or merge your information collected at its site with data from third parties for purposes of marketing products or services to you.

The advertisements appearing on the Website are delivered to you by our web advertising partner. Information about your visit to this site, such as the number of times you ha ve viewed an advertisement (but not your name, address or other personal information), is used to serve advertisements provided on this site. In the course of serving advertisem ents on this site, our third party advertisers may place or recognize a unique "cookie" on your browser.

Circumstances may arise where we are required to disclose your personal information to third parties for purposes other than to support your customer relationship with HSB, such as in connection with a corporate divestiture or dissolution where we sell all or a portion of our business or assets (including our associated customer lists containing your personal information), or if disclosure is required by law or is pertinent to judicial or governmental investigations or proceedings.

5. CHILDREN

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 for marketing purposes but because some information is collected electronically, it can appear to be t he personal information of the purchaser of the pHSBuct, and will be treated as such by this privacy policy. If a child under 13 submits personal information to HSB and we learn that that personal information is the information of a child under 13, we will attempt to delete the information as soon as possible.

6. YOU CAN OPT-OUT OF RECEIVING FURTHER MARKETING FROM HSB AT ANY TIME

We may send you information about our various products and services or other products and services we feel may be of interest. Only HSB (or agents or contractors working on b ehalf of HSB under confidentiality agreements) will send you such direct mailings. If you do not want to receive the mailings, simply let us know when you give us your personal information.

In the bottom of every email that is sent from HSB, you may opt out at any time.

7. OUR COMMITMENT TO DATA SECURITY

To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the correct use of information, we and the Internet Service Provider we use have endeavored to put in place physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to attempt to safeguard and secure the information we collect online.

8. HOW YOU CAN ACCESS OR CORRECT YOUR INFORMATION

You can request a copy of the personally identifiable information that HSB has collected about you via the internet by contacting our Information Privacy Manager at the address below. You can also have factual inaccuracies contained in this information corrected by contacting the Information Privacy Manager.

9. USE, DISCLOSURE, AND SHARING OF INFORMATION

a. Non-Personally Identifiable Information
From time to time, COMPANY may use and share with third parties aggregate, non-personally identifiable user information to show general demographic and preference information among users of the COMPANY Web sites. When you visit or download information from this Website, our web servers may automatically collect website usage information. Website usage information is non-personally identifying information that describes how our visitors use the Website. It can include the number and frequency of visitors to each web page and the length of their stays, browser type, referrer data that identifies the web page visited prior and subsequent to visiting the Website, and IP addresses (see below for more information on IP addresses). In the case of sending messages to you via text messaging, you acknowledge and agree that you may be charged fees by your wireless provider pursuant to your agreement with such wireless provider.

If you provide COMPANY with personally identifiable information, we will take all reasonable and appropriate steps to protect it from unauthorized disclosure.
If you opt in to receive e-mail from us, you can always opt out of future marketing messages by following the directions in each message to "unsubscribe". However, if you choose to opt out of marketing messages, we reserve the right to contact you regarding your account status, technical support, product information, changes to account terms, and any other matter that might affect our service to you and/or any products you purchased from us or registered with us, as applicable.

As stated in the Terms and Conditions, you will be deemed to have consented to the disclosure to, and use by, a subsequent owner or operator of a COMPANY Website or Service, of any information about you contained in the applicable COMPANY database, if COMPANY or one of its affiliates assigns its rights and obligations regarding any of your information at the time of a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or substantially all of COMPANY or such COMPANY's assets related to the applicable Website or Service to a subsequent owner or operator.
